Ellie McCann
Ellie McCann is a PhD candidate studying Music at the University of Hull where she had
previously completed her undergraduate degree in Music in 2017. She followed this with an
MA in the Psychology of Music from the University of Sheffield.
Ellie’s research project investigates cultural, emotional, and experiential aspects of singing in Mandarin, with particular focus on whether singing in Mandarin can aid language learning. There is also a broader project currently ongoing on the general experiences of choir members singing in non-native languages.
